What you’ll need:
- l med. onion, thinly sliced
- 1 sm. green pepper, sliced
- 1/2 c. chopped celery
- 2 sm. garlic cloves, minced
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 2 cans (8 oz. each) tomato sauce l bay leaf
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. oregano
- 1/2 tsp. chili powder
- 2 lbs, raw or cooked shrimp
In a deep heavy pot with 1/2 c. water add onion, green pepper, celery, and garlic. Steam until tender. Stir in remaining water, tomato sauce, bay leaf, salt, oregano and chili powder. Bring to boil; simmer about 20 mins. Add shrimp. Cook mixture uncovered until shrimp is pink. Serves 6.
